Alicia and the Demi-Gods Part 1

Alicia attentively shut the trailer door and headed towards the forest, treading lightly upon the remains of autumn. She tried to rid her mind of the guilt of leaving her brother inside the trailer, and tried to remind herself to bring him something to eat later.  Frost settled on her path, causing her to squash it closer to the ground. It made a distinct noise in the quiet morning. She bundled herself up in the cheap tourist parka her father had purchased before he had left. Her gentle breaths left puffs of white in the fresh, cool air. She walked and ran and jogged farther into the foliage until she reached the large mediterranean house, out of place in a colonial style countryside. Must be home for today she thought to herself. She was used to breaking into abandoned homes and estates for shelter, for her trailer had no heating and was freezing. She stepped inside and regret it awfully as soon as she saw two angels sitting in the living room. Maybe they weren't angels but whatever they were, they had been preened with immortal beauty. Their features seemed to be carved  from marble. Her eyes a clean violet, his a clear blue. Her golden tresses reached her elbows. Alicia reached for the clay door nob, but a nasty ambush surprised her. She certainly hadn't seen it coming, and certainly hadn't awaited such an attack. The room glittered and then the walls caved in. Black began spread through her vision. . .
